Melanie soon discovered the invisible properties of food, all in A Bowl of Food. What a sacred gift!!!! Life in a Bowl of Food... What a simple satisfying gift to give to oneself and share with others. A sacred act as one bowl is passed from the hands of another, holding the microcosm of the universe. Melanie indulged her spirit as she explored the many ancient cultures and their history with Food. Creating bowl meals which held the essence of an ancient culture, added a high quality of richness to a meal. Melanie found that she could easily drop into a state of reverence for life and thus her relationship to eating began to transform. Melanie’s issues around dieting and the overall concern of achieving balanced nutrition decreased rapidly. At Home Cooking transformed kitchens into healthy, efficient kitchens, along with menu and meal planning, personal chef provisions and catering. At this same time Boulder, CO. was the fueling of the greatest Industry which exists today, the Natural Food Industry. From small dinner parties… to serving hundreds, Melanie’s work combined with Leonardo’s family restaurant’s popularity created famous events in the world of culture and cuisine! In 1997 Melanie and Leonardo created and performed 6 Ethnic Cuisine Feasts that were featured by Naropa University. Ancient Persia, India, Republic of Georgia, Central Italy, Sicily, and Spain. Guests were welcomed in their home and greeted by a host of the designated country in an old traditional manner. Everyone walked into a sea of wonder and amazement as they toured the kitchen learning to prepare the meals while listening to the many stories of each culture. Everyone ate and drank with the spirit our ancient ancestors. Costumes and entertainment enriched the environment; it was as if we were all right there hundreds of years ago. We were all on a journey……. An Encompassing Journey into Food, Life and Spirit. Feasting as if we had never left the heart of the village. Melanie and Leonardo believed that guests infused the sacredness of every culture which helped to enhance their own personal relationship with Food, Life and Spirit. Their increasing love for travel and adventure took them to play along with working on land or at sea, on tall ships and mega yachts, sharing the richness of their lives, Living Life to its Fullest! In between cooking for events Melanie and Leonardo would adventure off to Spain, Italy, Sicily, France, Morocco, and spend time on the east, west and south shores of North America. Whether on land or sea, Melanie states, “We fed and passed on Ancient Ancestral Nourishment.” |
